We have been staying at a boarding school in Jakarta with 200+ students and wonderful hosts. Our month has been simply building relationship with those here as we teach English, play games, and spend time with the students.

I have personally been touched by the overwhelming sense of generosity, hospitality, and kindness shown to us by our hosts. From the time we arrived, we were greeted with a parade and have been treated like kings/queens. It is quite something to experience! I somewhat have a taste of what celebrities feel like back home with people pushing themselves towards us to show us honor and respect while asking for upwards of 50+ photos a day. In it though, I realize our sonship brings a position of royalty and favor for the Father’s love is extravagant.
We think we are here to do “__________” but what if our purpose is greater? What if we needed to be removed from our comfort zones in order to have our sin/weaknesses exposed so we can face them in order to receive healing and transformation? What if it is to move from spiritual slavery to spiritual sonship? What if it is to learn how to love through being served with humility rather than upholding a sense of entitlement to our ability to serve? What if it is to see hearts captured, lives transformed, and the beauty of being beloved both in those around us and the ones we come to meet?
Please be in prayer for us as we continue to invest in people’s lives. We may not always be able to post what is going on publicly but it’s been a grand adventure where we are constantly seeing God move.
