How a trip to the museum of art can change your perspective!

Quality time is important to me and it seems as if there’s no way to fit in moments with all those who mean a lot to me before I leave on the World Race. However, I am thankful for the opportunities G-d has placed before me. My mentor decided we needed some QT before the holidays and we went to the museum of art. It was fun to walk around and explore the exhibits/galleries together. The last space we entered was geared more for contemporary social justice pieces. This one particular piece caught both of our attentions. It was a house built from the remnants of a tragedy in South Africa. My mind started to think of how broken pieces of glass or tile are often used to make a mosaic and look at how these things could be pieced back together making something beautiful.

Doesn’t G-d do this in our lives as well?

He takes all of those broken pieces of our lives and weaves them into this amazing tapestry which tells our story.

For me, I have experienced many moments where “broken” pieces were created from life’s events. Sometimes I have simply left the broken pieces in a pile on the floor collecting dust because it hurt too much to deal with what it would take to do something about them. There’s three choices to choose from: do nothing, throw them away, or build something beautiful. Without my mentor’s help, it certainly would have taken longer to let G-d help me make something beautiful out of the mess.

This holiday season I am fortunate to be able to meet some of the other women who my mentor has also helped. I love seeing the light shine through their mosaic of a story as we journey together and become intertwined in the woven tapestry of His grand love story.

Will you let G-d use your brokenness for His glory?
