What do you consider “weird”? Is it possible what may be “weird” to you may actually in fact be “normal” to others and vice versa?

One day a coworker was eating whole radishes at lunch, I looked at him and briefly thought the way he was eating the radish was odd. I didn’t think anything of it though since it was a fleeting thought and by no means did it impact the way I interacted with this coworker. Yet only a few short months later given some certain circumstances, I found myself eating whole radishes! What was once odd to me was now normal. Now I know this is but a minor example used for illustration but how many things of a greater magnitude fall in this same category and actually do affect relationships around us?

What comes to mind is race, gender, and culture.

If I were to pick a few men of one nationality and a few of another and asked them to stand in front of you, then blindfolded you and mixed up their placement/order in line before asking you to shake their hands. Could you actually tell which man was of which nationality? No because race is only eye level deep. Without sight you realize we are all humans regardless of race, gender, or culture. So why do we allow these things to dictate whom we have relationship with and what kind of relationship it will be?

As my pastor likes to say, there are only those humans who know Jesus and those who don’t.

I look forward to reaching those who don’t amongst all the cultures of the world.
