Holy crap! I’m already almost done with month Two. Nepal has been drastically different from India from the people to the way they treat animals. The food however, although different, still has a lot of rice. There is rice everywhere and so many different ways to make it. Now to the main story.
So I’ve been in Nepal for three total weeks now. Only two of them for ministry. Week one was our first debrief which was a time to reflect on our time in India. But once ministry started, time started flying by. We’ve been to an old woman’s home and prayed over the ladies there. We’ve been to the slums and helped run a kids program, and even visited a lepar colony for those who have had leprosy. We as a team have been doing a lot of prayer for the people of Nepal. We’ve hiked to the top of a mountain to pray literally over Kathmandu and the people in it. We have walked around temples of Hindu and Buddhist origin praying for those who were worshiping there; and in the process got crop-dusted by a monkey. It has been an amazing experience as I personally am not used to this much praying. It’s given me a new sense of the power behind it. It has also given me a newfound respect to those who are called “Prayer Warriors”. Here in Nepal there is a real darkness here. More than just pollution in the air. At the top of the mountain while praying you can literally see the pollution hovering over the city. I ask all who read this, please pray for Kathmandu.
