This past week my team and I have been at our current home almost the entirety of the time we’ve been here in India. We’ve created a volleyball court with net and posts, cut grass with hand tools and have cleaned a very large portion of the building we call home. Our team is growing closer as each day passes because of our close proximity. We are laughing more, jamming out to music and just having fun in the process of our day. Our Ministry of this month is doing things that our hosts need done around the building for those who are coming and working here in the future. With all the work we’ve been doing I can see attitudes beginning to change. And the Indian people we are helping are loving us as much as they can. Our workday ends at five o’clock Sharp and several of the Indian men come outside and we all play volleyball till the sun goes down! (These guys are committed and are actually pretty good at it.) So everyday we do something different or continue the previous project; And at the end of the day, we all play volleyball on the court we built over the course of the first two days.
So why would I title this stuck in place? Because being stuck isn’t always bad. Sometimes it gives you the chance to catch your breath, process that your actually in India and not on a movie set, grow with the people your with; And get to experience the grace and glory of God in all the little things around you.
