#1 I learned to relax and enjoy each moment. Not all moments have to be serious or stress filled. It’s okay to relax and not know what you are doing just enjoy the moment fill it with laughter and it will become memorable. Also, I learn to let go and have so much fun. Random dance parties, laughter and memorable moments happens often with my team!
#2 I learned how to fully trust the Lord and to let the Him have all the control. I’ve learned I could no longer control anything except for what I did or what I said; and that’s all that matters!
#3 I learned that everything is a ministry opportunity… AKA peeling potatoes this past month in Colombia was a ministry
#4 I learned to be grateful for things i used to take for granted; my own bed, warm water, personal space, toilet seats, toilet paper. These are just a few things I’ve learned to cherish and to be thankful for instead of taking for granted!
#5 I learned to cherish, invest into, and love my team! I just want to take a second to brag about my team: we are all so incredibly different but we invest into the Lord together, we say the hard things to each other, we are a little family, we have family meals together, we cook together, we clean together, we walk as sisters of Christ, we uphold each other in the value the Lord has for us, and we spend time laughing and having fun together!
#6 I learned what is really means to prefer each other: ultimately being selfless. Examples… yes you can have part of my snack since you’re hungry too or just really want what I’m eating, yes I’ll bucket flush your poop since you don’t know how or just choose to leave it there and now the whole bathroom smells. Yes you can sit with me during my quiet time even though you want to talk to me and interrupt my quiet time; I’ll choose to spend time with you and come back to quiet time later. Yes you can borrow what I have… for we are family and whatever I have is yours too. Therefore the moral is say yes; I learned to love my squad well and team well because of it. Yes, we have boundaries as say no at times but saying yes is more common then saying no.
#7 I also leaned to invest in my time with the Lord more then ever before! The more time you invest, the more time you get out and the more to learn to live as the Lord has called us to live! Choose him in everything.
#8 I learned to fully rely on the Lord! Before I could lean on my family when things got hard; on the race that’s not possible for they are back in America. I learned to find comfort, peace and love from the Lord more then ever before!
#9 The Lord worked in amazing ways through my team and squad. At least 7 people acceptted Christ! Many people were also baptized; and lots more.
I’m currently am in Ecuador and will be starting ministry on Monday. My team and I will be teaching English in a school for this month! We are so excited to see the Lord move in the High school we will be in! Thanks for all your prayers!
