Over a year ago I began to prepare for a journey that then seemed like a dream.
Today I live out that dream every day.
My squad arrived in Costa Rica 4 days ago, Wednesday September 12th. After a short three hour plane ride, the first sight we see is breathtaking; as we step into Costa Rica and see ___________ Mountain standing tall behind our plane.

It starts to hit me, I live here! But this is just the beginning, we hop on a bus and travel about an hour and a half to discover what the place we will call home for the next three months.
I had no idea what to expect. For the entirety of the bus ride, my mind raced through all the possibilities of what my new home may look like: tents in the jungle, log cabins crawling with spiders, or maybe joining a local family in their home. But I never could have guessed where we actually ended up.
I LIVE HERE. I still couldn’t believe it.
What we saw was a house with beds and bathrooms was the last thing I was expecting to call home.
Not only were we living in luxury (for world race standards), but that breathtaking view from the airport, was now our backyard.
This is my view. Incredible.
Standing there awing over the sight, everything hit me at once: this is my home, I live here.
It’s almost unreal. I could have never prepared myself enough to actually be walking this journey, but here it is and somehow I could not feel more ready.
On our first full day in Costa Rica, our wonderful hosts greeted us with orientation, rules of the house, and a tour of the city, Curridabat, in the province of San Jose.
Guess what? I LIVE HERE.
The realization has finally set in completely. This is real, this is my home.
We ended that day with worship and I felt the most peace I have ever encountered. My body, mind, and soul are happy. Every ounce of my being knows this is exactly where I’m meant to be.
