As a little girl, I had a love affair with “blows,” the white, puffy version of a dandelion. My golden ringlets would bounce wildly as I ran from one “blow” to another, pausing only to pluck them from the ground and huff and puff with all my might until the last seed was drifting through the air. I never left one seed on the stem. Not one.

Why is this relevant, you ask? Well, let me tell you. I most identify with the father heart of God, and sometimes he uses sweet moments from my childhood to reveal his truth.

All throughout The Awakening* the Lord kept putting images of “blows” in my mind. I thought it was just a sweet Father-daughter moment until the last morning of the conference.

As Andrew, one of the creators of the World Race, prayed over us, God showed me one of my “blows,” but this time He breathed on the seeds and sent each them flying across a field. As they landed, they bursted forth in yellow blooms, and then they faded to white, forming new seeds. At that moment, the breath of God came rushing in again, and those new seeds spread around the field just as before. The dandelions were multiplying before my eyes.

“God breathed the Holy Spirit on them!” Andrew bellowed. That sentence snapped me back into reality as I realized the magnitude of what the Lord revealed.

At Awakening, Racers from all over were bound together on one stem, sharing a common vision and growing together in Christ. God breathed new life into us and sent us out into the world, each of us a single seed to be planted, but from just that one seed comes hundreds more, just waiting for the breath of God to take them on a journey of a lifetime.

God breathed His life into us, and we are equipped with the Holy Spirit. We have all we need to empower people with the Gospel and advance the Kingdom of God because we have His Spirit. It is unlikely that we will see every seed blossom into its golden glory, but we know the breath of God is mightier than anything we can do in our own power, and we know that, like little Mia, He will never leave one seed on the stem behind. Not one.

Until the Whole World Hears,

Mia

*NOTE: The Awakening is a 3-day conference for World Racers to join together, worship the Lord, press into our giftings, and learn from one another in various areas of ministry.
