Have you ever had an item on your to-do list that you have been moving from one week to the next, only to realize about a month later that you still haven’t checked off that box?
Procrastination. It’s real. Sometimes I am really great at being proactive, and sometimes I am really not. Sometimes I put off important things because I am attending to the more urgent things in life, believing that I will get to the other things “eventually.”
Well, today, while sitting at a NTB and getting an oil change, I realized that in this season of hustle and working two jobs, I have forgotten about something truly important: preparing for the next season. I have six weeks until my training camp. I have six weeks until I am unemployed. I have been so focused on the day-to-day tasks and realities of life that I have neglected to adequately get everything in order for the journey to come.
God has put conviction in my heart today that I can no longer procrastinate when it comes to the mission He has placed in front of me. Nothing makes you reflect on your life quite like a quiet waiting room and the scent of rubber, I guess.
I am writing today to ask for help.
Can you help hold me accountable for spiritual and emotional preparation? I know I need warriors to pray for and with me. I need people to help me stay focused on my Kingdom goals and the big picture because I often get trapped in the minutiae of daily life.
Can you assist me in my financial preparation? Would you be willing to sow into my trip as a monthly partner, or can you connect me with someone who has a heart for giving to missions? I know I need people who want to join me on this journey, to walk with me as I serve abroad.
I’ve been avoiding placing this on social media because vulnerability is uncomfortable, but I recognize that I need help, and I know that I can’t get help if I don’t ask for it. I know that God has put truly wonderful people in my life, so I am asking you to please consider what ways you can support me through this transition.
Feel free to leave a comment or contact me personally if you have a question or want to send prayers my way. If you are ready to contribute financially, you can also contact me, or click the orange “Donate!” button at the top right of my blog site.
Sending my humble thanks and love to my friends, family, and community.
Until the whole world hears,
Mia
