Hello!
Writing to everyone in a brand NEW season on the race. You’re looking at a new Team Leader who gets the opportunity to lead a brand new team.
My squad leaders approached me last month in Cambodia and strongly felt like the Lord was calling me to be a Team Leader. I’ll be honest; I was surprised because I felt like they hadn’t been around me much to see me lead. I also was not purposely seeking out a position in leadership, but low and behold my name was brought up by leadership starting in month 2 and my coaches and squad leaders saw a leader in me from the start. They told me they had been observing me and saw my intentionally and the way I pursued people and led without trying. I was honored.
After having some time to process and consider this new role, I’ll admit I was nervous. I was nervous because I felt like I would have to step out of my comfortability and try harder on the race, however that’s exactly what I needed to do. The Father has called me out of my comfortability in this season and I’m ready for what this entails. I absolutely loved my last team and what each teammate had to offer, but there were times on my team when I felt like I had taken the easy way out and let others lead, even when I knew I was just as capable. By the end of the month 4, I felt like everything was easy. And this is not a bad thing!! But God knew I needed this shift because I needed to be challenged spiritually and emotionally.
I approach this season with so much eagerness and I’m excited to see how the Lord moves in my new team and I. I go into this season remembering that it’s not my team but God’s team. I look forward to the trial and error and learning to live and do ministry with this group of strong ladies
We have decided to name our team HAPPY FEET that centers around this verse:
And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” – Romans 10:15
As soon as we suggested this name my team LOVED the idea of it. You obviously might’ve heard this name from the infamous penguin movie haha, but we thought this name was just as applicable to us. This group of women has such a drive and passion to share the good news and I can’t think of a more fitting name for our team. This team will strive to keep our happy feet going in every place we will walk through and I’m stoked!!!
Now this month my team is placed in Chiang Mai, Thailand and we’re helping out at the Zion Hostel, which is newly owned by Adventures in Missions. Our ministry this month will consist of helping around the hostel, with renovation, prayer ministry and evangelism.
This will be our last month in Asia and I’ll admit I’m sad with how fast the time has gone here. I would like to invite you all into praying for my team and ministry this month. Please pray my team can be unified and we would leave this month as a unit. We’ve also been placed here with two other teams, and it’s been a little challenging to find time to be intentional. Also please be praying for my new position in leadership and that I would choose joy everyday and lead with grace and truth.
Thanks fam!!! God is moving in big ways over here, and I love getting to experience Him in Asia!
Love, Meg
