Dear friends and family,
I am requesting your prayers and support. My whole life my parents have raised me to go to church on Sunday mornings, attend Bible classes, grow through my Confirmation, and placed me in Christian environments. Summers spent at Camp Lakeview (a Christian camp in southern Indiana), Project Awestruck (a service week with my youth group), and weekends with my youth group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church have taught me how important and powerful it is to have Christian fellowship with people my age. As the time for graduation from high school grew near, I realized I felt as if going immediately to college was not what God was calling me to do, and that I should be using what I have learned my whole life to help others. After lots of prayer, inspiration from my youth pastor, and inspiring YouTube videos, I discovered “The World Race Gap Year” through Adventures in Missions.
The gap year program with The World Race is a nine month program starting out in September. It is a unique experience to practice discipleship around the world with other teenagers that have also recently graduated high school. Traveling to Cambodia, Thailand, Honduras, Guatemala, and Ethiopia, I will be serving many communities to spread God’s Word. With my team, I will be preaching the gospel, planting churches, helping victims of human trafficking, assisting in orphanages, supporting the hungry, and showing the light of Christ.
Thank you so much for your prayers up to this point in my life, and I ask you please continue to keep me in them as I participate in this journey! There will be many challenges along the way, but the first one is fundraising. The World Race requires its participants to financially fundraise their way through the trip as a way to trust that God will provide. By my launch date of September, I need to have raised $14,951. This covers all of my expenses for the trip including transportation and housing. It would be a huge blessing if you would prayerfully consider donating.
There are multiple options for donating, and they are listed on the cards found here. If your donation is with a check, please print out the card and follow the steps on it. If you are using a card, information for online donations are given as well. Adventures In Missions is a tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(3) and is a member of the ECFA. (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability). Due to IRS and ECFA regulations governing the administration of tax deductible donations given in support of a particular trip/program, support contributions given on behalf of an individual will be used to offset the costs of the trip/program you are involved in. All contributions are non-refundable regardless of the participant’s success in completing the program.
