Oh my word! Guys, today I had a great conversation with one of my squad-mates where she told me about her walk with the Lord. Although she is relatively young in her faith, she feels as though she has “known the Father for a very long time.” I looked at her and said, “that is because He has always known you!”

We stared at one another and smiled, she nodded and replied saying, “yeah, I can look back at my life and see His hand in everything!”

As I responded, I heard myself interject periodically, slowly recognizing what was happening in that moment: the Holy Spirit was speaking through me!

As the following words came out of my mouth, I was surprised at the truth in them, as if I was realizing this, something I have always known, for the first time!

“Right? It’s like when you’re eating soup and you are trying to pinpoint exactly what it is you are tasting. You notice it in some bites, more than you might in others, though you aren’t quite sure what it is…sometimes it’s overpowered by other ingredients. You can recognize the taste from the salt, but what is that other flavor? Then someone suggests that the flavor is curry, confident because they’ve tasted it before. You gingerly take another bite to find out for yourself…Yes, it just might be. Another bite, I think it is. A couple bites more, it most certainly is curry! As you continue to eat the soup you taste the curry in each bite, more fully than you had before! With confidence you think back on the first few mouthfuls and see clearly now that it was curry all along, sprinkled throughout the soup, mixed in with finesse, always apart of the recipe! You give your compliments to the chef and are amazed when He tells you the meal is free and you can have curry in abundance, for the rest of your life! You can try a new soup each time if you so choose, and the ingredients may change over time, but there will always be curry for those who seek it out! We get to savor every bite!”

Maybe I’ve been in Asia for too long…maybe I’ve spent too much of my food money on curry, maybe I am just hopeful that there will be an endless supply of it in Heaven…and maybe I’m extrapolating a bit, but the point remains: there is truth in all things, and God knows exactly how to reveal Himself to us when we are willing to taste and see!

I’m grateful for this reminder as we continue on this Race, preparing ourselves for lifelong ministry! I am grateful for this platform and the opportunity to share these words with you. I owe each and every one of you a giant THANK YOU for supporting me and following my journey! Your obedience, curiosity, and love do not go unnoticed! We are all uniquely participating in the creation of this delicious soup!

P.S. I apologize if you do not like curry, feel free to edit the flavor for your own understanding.
