Allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Maggie and I was born and raised in good ole’ Iowa Falls, Iowa, alongside my older and younger sister. I am currently a senior at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska studying Political Science: Legal Studies and Theology, Pre-Law. I will be graduating this December 2017 so that I can go on this amazing adventure in 2018!
In high school my parents allowed us to host a few foreign exchange students which initially sparked my love for language, culture, and traveling abroad, leading me to visit them in Europe and then spend a semester of college down in Australia. They say once you start you can’t stop, and as I grew into my faith through my education, family, and travels, I couldn’t help my urge to go out into the world and serve “the least of these.”
That desire (and a reference from a dear friend) lead me to apply for the World Race, which brings us all here! I am beyond excited to spend 11 months backpacking through the world with a group of people that are excited to live out their faith, challenge themselves, and learn from people outside of their typical sphere of influence. This opportunity to uproot my life and face the world and its people with an open heart is not something I expected myself to be able to take on, but I feel that everything in my life up to this point has been preparing me for this journey!
I would love for you to join me as I embark on this adventure and am in need of your support, be that via prayer, donation, letters, etc.
If you would like to keep up with my progress and my journey, you can subscribe to my world race blog on my home page!
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:40
