We had team changes while in Cambodia and then headed into Thailand for month five of the Race. On our way to ministry we spent a day in Bangkok, waiting for an overnight bus to our final destination. I was able to meet up with a friend from college named Abby. She met my team, gave us a few pointers on Thai culture, then showed me where to shop for some supplies and snacks before we headed on our 14 hour bus ride. As we were shopping, she told me that she was going to buy these things for me. It stopped me in my tracks. Nothing was extravagant, just shampoo, conditioner (which I haven’t really chosen to afford on the race up to this point), bug spray, chips, nuts, etc. but it was such a blessing to me. It’s been a long time since someone has paid for those simple items for me. I stood there teary-eyed as a friend I hadn’t seen in two years blessed me with these simple things. She was taking care of me and was being used by God to minister to my soul.

Never underestimate the power of following through on what God asks of you, because you never know how blessed the person on the receiving end might be.
