Dear friends and family,

It’s been almost a month since I graduated from high school. For the past year, I was repeatedly asked the big senior year questions – “Where are you going to college?” and “What are you going to major in?”, and each time I struggled to find the answer. Towards the end of my junior year, I discovered what a gap year was, and the idea really intrigued me. I found myself researching about different colleges, but the idea of travelling and helping others kept invading my thoughts. This is when I really started to research gap year programs, and then I remembered a girl that graduated from my school was participating in The World Race Gap Year Program. The Word Race is a Christian missions gap year program through Adventures in Missions. I reached out to her, and after speaking to her while she was abroad, and praying, I knew that this was what I was being called to do. So I applied to The World Race, and was accepted into the program a few days before graduation!

Through The World Race, I have the opportunity to travel and share the word of Christ all over the world. I will be traveling with a team to India, Nepal, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and Ecuador. We will partner with local churches and ministries in each country’s community, teaching English, helping orphans, building homes, working with victims of human trafficking, and ministering to people. Our goal is to spread God’s love, light, and hope to the people of these communities. I can only imagine the impact we will be able to have in these parts of the world!

I am so excited about this adventure and what God has in store for me over the next year. I would like to ask for your support, through prayer and giving. The cost for my World Race is $14,951.00. This cost includes food, airfare, insurance, transportation, and shelter for the duration of this trip. If you are financially able, I would like to ask you to consider making a donation. Any amount will be greatly appreciated! If you cannot make a donation, I would ask that you pray for me and my team during our travels over the next year. I know this year will full of learning and excitement, but I also know there will be difficult times, as well.

Thank you, in advance, for your support! I can’t wait to blog and keep you posted on my travels and how God is working in my life and the lives of the people I will be meeting. Please follow along at http://maddiehunt.theworldrace.org/
