So I left Bosnia and headed to debrief in Montenegro. We had a 7 hour bus ride from mostar to dubrovnik Croatia, then had a 4 hour bus ride from dubrovnik to Tivat, Montenegro. Had a debrief there. Then we headed to Kosovo or Kosova. It was supposed to be a 7 to 8 hour bus ride but the bus broke down on the way up the mountains in Montenegro. (The bus overheated then for some reason lost fuel pressure prime).
We got to Kosovo in middle of a church service. It was all squad month so we all worked with this church. Each team stayed in different apartments around the church.
We came for a evangelism conference called Impact Kosovo. There were people from all over Europe and the states there. They had workshops and worship on the mornings then in the afternoons and night we went to city centers around the country and evagalised.
Kosovo is a country that is only 10 years old. They are 95% Muslim and when I walked around with some locals they would always tell me that that guy is an extremist.
Anyway during evangalism I went out with someone that spoke Albanian, we had people fill out surveys that would lead us into conversations with them, Tricky tricky.
One of the best days there we went up to a city where 99% of the people where muslims. Me and a mechanic that was from that town but is Christian went around the city center and started to talked to some guys at bars, stores, and hookah bars. We had them fill out the survey. They listened to us and wanted to know more.
I was talked to three guys outside of an sports gambling place and another guy came by and he got a flyer from other people in our group and he told us to go grab coffee with him so we finished talked to the 3 guys and went to join him and we talked about what we believe. A lot of times people in Kosovo would tell me we believe the same thing 99% of christianity and Islam is the same. I explained that that 1% makes it completely different. Jesus being God changes everything.
We talked for a while and we talked to a bunch of guys in this cafe. One of then wanted us to talk to there dad. So we went to his house and the father and son talked to us two about faith, God, history of the city. (There back yard was pretty much a Roman fortress.)
Impact Kosovo was pretty much the main reason we where there. I was able to meet some good friends there. Speak some truth to people.
The people of Kosovo where some of the nicest people in the world. I loved the time I spent there. My team grew so close that month. We had delish family dinners every Friday. We also got to stay at an amazing apartment that the church had.
