Honduras update! I’ve been in Honduras for almost two weeks now and I’m absolutely LOVING it. Traveling here was quite interesting with multiple layovers, but we got here safe and sound(as well as incredibly tired). We all got hit with jet lag and even now, as soon as it hits 6:00 pm, I am ready to hit the sack! There are currently four teams in our hosts home and it’s quite packed. You’d figure it’d be hard to get some quiet or alone time but it’s been easy actually. I can wake up at 6:00 am, get ready for the day, make a hot cup-of-joe, and sit down with God.
The near by town is also amazing, it’s so colorful and vibrant, the locals always greet you with a smile. The food is also delicious and reminds me of home. I’m from Arizona, so it’s hot almost year round, so the cool windy weather here is a nice change.
Now, for ministry we are working at an orphanage for the special need. The story behind this place is amazing! Going from 50cents for months because the government stopped funding it, to a place flourishing with more money than needed and hands that are always volunteering to help repair anything. This place is beautiful and clearly shows God’s glory through it all, especially the people who kept their faith in Him that He would provide. To help provide finances for this place, residents take part in making useful house hold objects. For example, they knit rugs and purses with yarn. LOTS of yarn, which our teams have been rolling pounds of it. At our hosts home, we’ve been making piñata’s for children at a local school and for the orphanage.
Needless to say, God is doing some awesome things around the world.
