When I was preparing to exit the plane and step into the Haiti airport, I prepared for a dark cloud to overcome me. In reality I stepped off the plane and entered the Haiti airport. I suddenly felt a strong sense of encouragement and grace. In a place where trash covers almost all the ground, where purified water is a blessing, and where darkness falls, there is such beauty that can only be described as the Lord’s touch. God touches this place with His Glory. Haiti is beautiful, even with such poverty. Here, the kids play outside with each other, and there is community, community that I pray would be in the U.S. Looking out and seeing the mountains, the ocean, the trees that bear gorgeous fruit that tastes so good with such sweetness of Christ. I can see and feel the glory of the Holy Spirit here. Looking up at the sun and at night worshiping under the sunset the sky is so beautiful, I feel the warmth and happiness that the happiness that the Holy Spirit graces here in Haiti. No matter what darkness hovers over Haiti with poverty and need health wise, The Glory and the grace of God is evident. Just an update I have held and rocked a child to sleep in my arms, my team leader gave me a haircut, I have made a whole bunch of children laugh while playing, I have danced and shared laughter with elderly men and women. I love it here in Haiti, everyday I am blessed with the Holy Spirit and Christ blessing me with all and more I could of imagined, laughter, patience, love, peace, vulnerability, spirituality, trust, and above all Faith.I am surrounded by richness of faith.
Psalm 23:1-6
“He guides me along right paths, for the sake of his name, Even through the valley of death.”
