What does it mean to truly be with the Holy Spirit?

The past week and a half has been so crazy. Saturday was our off day, so we ventured to a crater. This crater is a dormant volcano, where people now live. It was pretty cool to see, but sadly we did not get to hike it.

The bus ride was awful and motion sickness got the better of me. Upon arriving to this location we come across a museum…really it was a sun temple and man was it creepy. The air high in the mountains should have felt thin, but instead it felt thick and dark. Right away all of us mutually agreed that it was an evil place and that we needed to avoid it.

Before we had a chance to walk past the temple, one of the girls working the entrance ran across the road with her dog… in that single moment, I watched the little dog get ran over. All of us were in shock. At that point, Britt reminded us that Jesus heals ALL things, People and animals alike. So, outside of this temple museum, we formed a circle and prayed for this dog. The dog was in good spirits when we left and I have no doubt that the dog was healed internally thanks to the power of God. We continued on our journey.

Once we were done soaking in the view, we passed the temple once again, only this time 2 of my squad mates were feeling very restless and began an internal battle. This was the day I truly began to understand Spiritual Warfare. We walked a few paces further down the road and we prayed. We prayed and prayed for our teammates, we prayed for the people in the land, we prayed for the destruction of the temple, for the Holy Spirit to fill the land. We prayed for each other and we worshiped God. We worshiped with so much love and as we ended after what had to be 15 mins or more, I felt free. So much lighter and my stomach was completely healed from the uneasiness that it had felt before. I did not realize just how much I was affected by that space until our prayers broke away the ties that tried to bind themselves to us. It was a beautiful moment and the start of the crazy wonderful things God is doing.

Meeting With The Spirit

Later in the week we got to experience the Holy Spirit at a whole new level. Years of faith formation class and learning of the power of the Holy Spirit has nothing on this moment. We spent the night worshipping together in our house. The energy in the air was high, and while I was standing, I began to sway. As members of my squad began to pray for me, as I was swaying, I began to lose my balance and found myself sitting down and eventually just laying down. The air felt electric. I can’t exactly explain it, but as I was praying aloud I found my words changing from English to an unknown language. The Holy Spirit was speaking through me. I never truly understood what the Bible meant by “speaking in tongues” until this very moment.

It was crazy, we were all a little freaked out, but it was so good.

After our worship ended I was shaking. Like a lot. It was in my legs as if I had the need to go run, and as I tried to get my legs to stop it transferred into my arms. Everyone’s reaction and facia expression was saying that I looked ridiculous, but also that God is even more powerful than we have yet to fully understand.

That’s a summary of what this past week held for me spiritually. I hope you all are enjoying life. Best wishes and much Love. Ecuador is good, God is Great. Thank you all for the support.
