I feel as if there is this misconception when I mention my World Race Mission Trip. The focus immediately is on all the countries I will be going to.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love to travel. Starting my adventures the summer of 2012 to D.C. , then a couple weeks in Washington state, a few summers in Colorado, a month in Uganda, and a road trip out west. It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s contagious.
I am Beyond excited to be visiting all of the countries on my route, But that isn’t the focus of this mission trip, and sometimes I myself getting lost in that misconception. God has a plan for each of us, but he also gave us free will. We have the power to walk in the path He has prepared for us or to turn our shoulders. This is me walking in the path He has prepared.
So what is this trip about if it’s not to travel?
This trip is about helping others around the world, reachable and unreachable, to find Jesus in their lives.
It is to help others understand love. To let them know that even in their worst they are loved and never alone. To let them know that just by loving, their lives will improve.
To help those who are struggling, Homeless, hungry, lost.
For the orphans and widows mentioned in scripture time and time again. For those who are just like you and me, having a bad day and needing comfort and someone to listen.
For those who suffer from rape or sex-trafficking. To help them move forward away from the darkness.
To help the communities, to build, to clean, to make new.
It’s to help me find a better self. Place myself completely out of my comfort zone. To abandon everything I know, everything I have, everyone in my daily life. It’s for me to learn what it truly means to leave and follow God. To carry my cross and to learn who I am truly meant to be.
No plans, no home. Just faith that God will lead us to those who need it most.
There is doubt that comes from most people I interact with. How do you plan on raising that money? Will you be able to go? What happens if you don’t? Just looking into others faces I know they are doubting that I will receive the funds. Though as streesful as it’s been I always answer with “God will provide” just read any of the gospels and it’s there. “Ask and you shall receive!” It may be moments before I leave but I’m asking and I believe it will happen! That being said, if God has placed it on your heart today to donate please hit the donate tab. that is God’s way of helping provide the funds.
