Hello from Honduras,

I am spending this week in Gracias Honduras with a group of seven through missions door.  It is truly a beautiful country, green (which is a nice break from the brown I’m used to), mountainous, and been in the 80s.  We spent the past 3days doing a medical clinic in a prison.  First lesson in missions… BE FLEXIBLE!!!  When we where preaparing for this trip we were told we would be attending a WOMEN’S prison.  Upon arrival we quickly found out that when translated that meant there are about 12women and over 200 men!!!  While I dont think they appreciated the feminine glasses we brought it all worked out!  While some say I’m crazy I loved every minute of it!!!  All the prisoners were very nice, we did not even need guards with us.   While there I got to do vitals, check blood sugars, do some wound care, and administer injections.  Being able to combine my love of God and my love of helping people through medicine stills remains my greatest experience!!!  I’m so glad God has given me these gifts and opportunities to use them in unexpected ways!  Matthew 25:40 I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.  Most importantly, while we were there one man accepted the Lord!!!  They have an active church ministry in the prison and the pastor we were working with will follow up with him and we will keep him in our prayers!!  This is my 4th missions trip in a different country and its crazy to think of this experience lasting 11months… just a little longer than the 7-10 days I’m used to!!  But I am excited and taking each opportunity to learn and grow and prepare!!!  Please keep me in your prayers!!

God bless,

Kristine
