Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you all well! Those of you who know me well, know that I have spent many summers and weekends at Christian camps like Kanakuk, Summer’s Best Two Weeks, Beach Week with the Rock, and Winter and Summer camps with my youth ministry. In the past God has led me to serve his greater purpose by sending me on missionary trips with my church to the Dominican Republic; now, he is pushing me to go to even further heights and places to serve his first commandment to his disciples.

In recent months, God has put it on my heart to join a new adventure, inspiring me to take a leap of faith and go on the World Race: Gap Year. I was first introduced to the World Race after a series of long and fortunate events God orchestrated to get me onto the path he wanted. The World Race is run by AIM, Adventures in Missions, an organization designed to plan and support mission trips and missionaries. They have sent thousands of missionaries around the world since 1989. The World Race: Gap Year is a program designed for people ages 18-21, and is a 9 month trip to 6 different countries. I will be traveling on Route 6, where I and my team will be headed to India, Nepal, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and Ecuador. In these countries, my team will be engaging in many different types of ministry, including planting churches, teaching English, working with widows and orphans, helping families broken by HIV/AIDS, ministering to those trapped in prostitution, feeding the poor, and protecting victims of human trafficking, all the while preaching the eternal love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When I first discovered this opportunity, I was shocked at even the thought that I would ever embark on such a massive undertaking. It’s so out of my tiny little suburban world. How in the world could I ever do something like this? However, God pulled on my heart and through the Holy Spirit spoke to me. He told me that if I would only just put my faith in Him, that if this was where He wanted me to go then He would provide the means for me to be there. As one of my favorite verses declares, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened,” Matthew 7:7-8.

I humbly ask if you would consider partnering with me as I prepare to embark on this amazing journey God has prepared for me. I must raise $15,000 in order to go on the World Race, which will cover all of my expenses while on the field. While the number is daunting, the daily cost of living while on the field is approximately 3 – 5 dollars, so I would appreciate any donation regardless of size. While it will be an experience God has blessed me with, what this money is really being raised for is so that people across the nations may be served as Christ served and loved as He loved, and by praying with me, and/or giving financially, you also become a part of the amazing work God is doing.

Prayerfully,
