I’m Called to Stay!
I wish I could adventure and hike through Costa Rica and Panama and bring back crazy stories …
After we were rerouted from our original route, (Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama) because Nicaragua closed their borders, we went from Panama to Costa Rica for month 9&10. For month 11, our last month, leadership gave us the decision to choose where to go and what to do next within the boundaries of Costa Rica and Panama for our safety.
During my time of figuring out what to do, I prayed and asked the Lord day after day what was next.
I thought about what I wanted and a lot of me wanted to backpack through Costa Rica to Panama because of the spontaneity, adventure, and divine appointments that would happen. Another option would be to stay and continue pursuing relationships and the ministry here in Jaco. Both are incredibly great, but one was a calling to go and another was a calling to stay. After a lot of prayer, anticipation, and waiting on the Lord, He gave me an answer.
Don don don…
I didn’t have a lot of peace about leaving just yet. The Lord called me to stay in Jaco, Costa Rica for the remainder of the last month. This will be the longest I’ve stayed in one place the whole year.
Staying in Jaco has been a blessing, seeing and connecting with others I’ve never expected to, learning from wise individuals, and praying for men, women and children who need prayer. For example I regularly go to a local store and have met and talked with the owner, let’s call him John. The other day I prayed for him to have a divine appointment with another believer. A few days later John did! A lady I had met who was only here for a week prayed with John in his store! That same day she told me she prayed for John without knowing my own prayers for him. John told her afterward, “slowly walls are being broken down of what I previously believed in Jesus”. Like wow! The Lord is after his heart!
This reminds me of the beginning of the race. The Lord called me to go and now with the last month on the race the Lord has called me to stay because there is still work to be done here in Jaco. Some are called to stay and some are called to go. Where is the Lord calling you?
