Yes, we’ve been on a team for over a month already, but better late than never!!

Las Chiquitas: Small or short girl (we’re all under 5’4”), that is smart and very passionate. Has a sense of humor and brings life to the party when entering a room. Short, but has a big heart 🙂

[Margaret. Adriana (Dre). Viktoriya (Vika). Raina. Kelly. Chelsy]

Vika:
Memory from the race: One of my favorite memories was when a 3 year old girl was suffering from malaria for at least a month and after we prayed for her, she refused any medicine and would boldly proclaim she’s already healed and doesn’t need medicine. Later when her grandma got sick with malaria, grandma asked her (this 3 year old) to pray for her and the little girl responded with, “I don’t need to pray for you, you’re already healed!” Talk about child-like faith!
Something I want to do/grow in before the end of the race: I want to visit a Central American orphanage
Favorite country and why: Thats a hard one… there’s more than one! I’ll go with Côte d’Ivoire. It was my first experience going outside of the US. My eyes and mind was opened to a lot. It was amazing to see God move through us even when we didn’t speak the language. We met so many people. The food is delicious! Our hosts were amazing!
What are you going to do/eat when you get back home: Drive a car! Last time I drove was the day I left the US! Hopefully I stay on the right side of the road!

Raina
Memory from the race: When we went to the ocean at night in Ghana and swam in the moonlight and had trash wars
Something I want to do/grow in before the end of the race: Patience and being consistent in my prayer life
Favorite country and why: Nepal – we bonded with the YWAM team and they were like family and the mountains were beautiful
What are you going to do/eat when you get back home: Sleep in everyday and eat whatever food I want and have freedom in my own car

Margaret
Memory from the race: Team getting kicked out of a coffee shop for bringing in better and cheaper coffee into said coffee shop in Thailand (they were ordering food at the coffee shop).
Something I want to do/grow in before the end of the race: I want to do some crazy, wild, adventurous thing!
Favorite country and why: Guatemala fer sure! We had excellent ministry hosts and we got to do something new everyday. It was wonderful, beautiful, and very good for the soul. I painfully miss Guatemala and Blue Water Surrender.
What are you going to do/eat when you get back home: I’m going to freak out when I see my family! Then I’m going to have them take me to US Pizza to get really good pizza and a beer. And then I’m going to sleep for two days straight. Lay in bed, watch Harry Potter, and just sleep!

Kelly
Memory from the race: Water fights with squirt guns and bidets (water sprayers in the bathroom), and Songkran (Thailand festival where people literally throw buckets of water on people passing by, or spray them with water guns)!
Something I want to do/grow in before the end of the race: Having my actions speak louder than my words. Being a doer of the Word and not just hearer.
Favorite country and why: Thailand! Pat lived out the Gospel and lead by example. Literally a modern day Paul!
What are you going to do/eat when you get back home: Freeeezeee! I’m taking a short detour to Minnesota/Wisconsin in December before heading back to the warm-ish California weather. I can’t wait for a nice hot bowl of Shinsengumi ramen 🙂

Dre
Memory from the race: Week two into the World Race I used my first squatting potty. I was in West Africa, Côte d’Ivoire at a hospital, with IV fluids in my arm. My teammate had to hold my fluids bag outside the door while I squatted to have diarrhea. It was a very humbling moment.
Something I want to do/grow in before the end of the race: I would love to get into a routine of reading my bible every morning for 30 minutes before I start my day. To be able to start my day in the word is so beneficial when I do it and I’d love to continue in that pattern.
Favorite country and why: For sure Guatemala. I loved everything about it, the people, the ministry, the beauty of it all. Im definitely going back to that country, it grabbed my heart more that any other place I’ve been on the Race.
What are you going to do/eat when you get back home: I’m going to eat Chipotle, lay in bed with my best friends, go through my entire wardrobe and get rid of a bunch of clothes and then go shopping for new ones, take a long long bath with incense, candles, listening to John Mayer + Lany, go ice fishing with dad. So many things to look forward to upon arriving back in Minnesota.

Chelsy
Memory from the race: Bathing with elephants in a Thailand jungle river
Something I want to do/grow in before the end of the race: Experience a healing take place in front of my eyes, and lead someone to Christ using the Gospel colors in Spanish.
Favorite country and why: Cambodia because we got to live in a floating village. It was amazing, different, and unique. The World Race was worth it because of the floating village in Cambodia
What are you going to do/eat when you get back home: Texas Roadhouse roadkill!
