This morning I walked out to the dock to watch the sunrise. I was a little hesitant because there were a ton of dark clouds (it can rain like crazy here) and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to see anything.

But as I sat there, I was in awe of all the pinks, purples, and reds that I saw as the sun started to rise. And you know why? The clouds magnified them as the colors bounced off their white appearance. It was beautiful!

And in that moment, God used the clouds to tell me something important…

Clouds, although nice and fluffy, can take on the appearance of storm clouds that completely block you from seeing the sunrise/sunset. And because of them, I started to doubt…

But clouds (and all the photographers will probably agree) make sunrises and sunsets that much more amazing. They dream of clouds in their shots because the colors are more radiant because of them.

And that’s the same with God. Sometimes clouds come floating into our lives. We don’t like them because, well it’s ruining all the plans we had to view the “perfect” sunrise. But God laughs, and uses them for His amazing purposes. You see, when clouds come into our lives, the beauty and magnificence of God is that much greater! How crazy… He uses things that seem bad to allow His greater purpose to shine through.

So the next time you’re going through a cloudy patch, know that God can and will break through them, and paint a picture in the sky that will take your breath away!
