In a place with a meer 2.0% Christians, it seems like anywhere we go there are people who have never heard of Jesus, or don’t believe in Him.
This month, I had really hoped to go and talk to those people. I imagined sitting in someone’s house sharing about Jesus and how much He loved them and what He’s done for them. But that’s not possible here. As a Christian (whether foreigner or national), you’re not allowed to share about Jesus to a country that mostly practices Hinduism. If we’re not going to these houses, and we’re just talking at churches, how will those people hear?
Enter the mic and sound system. The churches we’ve talked at have their mics hooked up to a sound system that blasts the songs and messages each week to a 1+ mile radius around the church!! #ITSAMAZING!!
I was able to preach at a church this week! I talked about David and Goliath and what it looks like to face the giants in our lives. We already are victorious over our giants because of what Jesus did on the cross. I was able to share about how sin came into the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed in the Garden of Eden, but Jesus came many years later to redeem the relationship. He lived the perfect life and died on the cross for our sins so that we could have a relationship with Him! He loved us so much to do this, and all we need to do is believe in Him and accept Him as our Savior!
Those houses that I imagined us being in… well we were… only God’s plan was for it to be audibly! In a place where persecution and being disowned by your family are extremely high for Christians, God opened up a beautiful opportunity for His Word to be heard by EVERYONE nearby. They don’t need to worry about sneaking out to church, or explaining where they were. Instead, they can lay comfortably in their beds and hear the messages being preached each week!
How awesome is that?! Sometimes plans may not go the way I want them to go, but it’s just a reminder that what God has in store is so much better!! #micdrop!!
Here are some of the messages I was ale to give this month!
