Alumni squad leaders.

These amazing four humans have done the race (11 months) already, and came back a second time to speak life into a new squad (that’s us F squad)!

They’ve spent the last five months pouring every ounce they’ve had in them, on us. They’ve joined new teams each month (sometimes every half month), and have pursued every person on the team in wanting to get to know them better. They’ve called us higher by speaking life and encouragement over us, while also saying the challenging things to help us grow. They’ve laughed and cried with us through all the good times and bad times. They’ve interceded on our behalf since before we even knew them, and they’re still doing it now after they are gone.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned so far on the race is speaking life over yourself and others. Cristen learned that on her race and shared that with our whole squad. And throughout every interaction I’ve had with them, they’ve always spoken life over me and reminded me of who God says I am in times when I’d forgotten.

Months before our final days with the ASQLs, I was devastated at the thought of them going home. All the truth that they were speaking into me was stuff I needed to hear! I needed someone to tell me that stuff. BUT, because they spoke so much life over me, I started to believe it, and can now proclaim it over myself without needing to hear it from others.

It’s still bittersweet that they left. It’s bitter since their presence alone made such a huge impact on F squad, but it’s so sweet because they are impacting so many more lives back home and to wherever God calls them next!

So Cristen, Michelle, Sylvia, and Zach. I am forever grateful for the impact that each of you has made on my life. You are all phenomenally gifted leaders that are changing the world! Thank you for saying yes to leading our squad. Man oh man, I CAN’T WAIT to see all the lives that will be impacted as you continue saying yes to Jesus and following wherever He leads! You are all rock stars, and I can’t wait to see you at our debriefs!!
