It’s crazy to think that in about 4 short months, I’ll be on a journey around the world! It’s not all about fun and travel (although I’m sure it will be an adventure).
Why are you going?
I decided to go on the World Race to see how God is moving throughout the world and how I fit into that. How is He using others to reach those who don’t know Him yet? What does their faith look like (even at the cost of being disowned or killed for believing in Jesus)? I also struggle with wanting to be in control of every situation. I want to know what’s next and to plan for upcoming things, which takes very little faith. I’m excited because this trip will require me to give up control, and to trust that God has amazing plans in store for us even if we can’t see them at the moment.
What will you be doing?
Throughout the 11 months we will be partnering with local ministries and churches and helping wherever needed. We may be teaching English, visiting villages and orphanages and spending time with them, praying for those we meet while traveling to the next country, building houses for those who don’t have one, while sharing about Jesus and His love for each and every person we meet every moment we can. I know God will lead us to the places He has planned which will definitely be an adventure!
How can I help?
Pray! Honestly, that’s the biggest thing I’m learning right now. We aren’t in control, but He is. Pray for the countries and the hearts of the people we will be meeting in 5 short months. Pray for my team that we would be bold and courageous in every situation. Pray that we will allow God to lead our squad instead of wanting to take control. Pray that my team would be able to raise the money needed for us to go (this money is used for housing, travel expenses, food, ministry, and logistics). Pray that we would know that we are not going alone, and that there is a community of people back home paving the way for us through their prayers!
Thanks for reading!
