It’s launch week!!! We are at the Holiday Inn in Atlanta, Georgia for the weekend for training before we head to Haiti. You guys, World Race training goes hard. It sort of looks like session, session, bathroom, session, lunch, session, session, cry, session, worship, cry some more, session, water break from crying so much you can’t catch your breath, session, sleep if you can. Seriously.
So one of our sessions was about “feedback”. Feedback is pretty much healthy communication that brings kingdom, or saying things to build up charater. So yesterday we were practicing scriptual feedback and we were given the verse Galations 5:22.
Galations 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
So I’m sitting there praying and I get word. Okay so then I start over-thinking and I’m like, “Wait, God… Is that you speaking to me? Oooorrr is that just me thinking what I think would sound cool?? Mmmm okay I’m not going to share because I don’t think the Lord is speaking to me right now. “
So we start sharing what the Lord gave us for feedback with this verse and Courtney starts sharing the exact same thing that I was thinking that I didn’t want to share. I lost it. Tears everywhere.
For me, this was the Father showing me that He IS speaking to me. He is here. I can trust that when I feel like the Lord is saying something to me I need to listen.
So my prayer for this year is that you open the eyes of my heart Lord and help me focus on you. Help me throw out comparison and evil thoughts and doubt whenever you are speaking to me. I know that You have chosen me to go out and build Your Kingdom. So I pray that I can be obedient and open to hearing you.
You guys. Isn’t it crazy how many ways the Lord can give you confirmation? How crazy does it feel when He just randomly shows up and blows your mind even with the small things?
