As we started our ministry in Australia, I was reminded of a challenge that was laid down to me during my time in India 2 years ago.
If He called you to a country and all He asked you to do was pray, would you be okay with that?
I knew my answer in Australia was no, just as it was in India. I didn’t want to stay back and miss out on everything. How could I tell my supporters at home that all I had done was pray? Wasn’t I supposed to be going out, being the hands and feet of Jesus?
This challenge was again laid down to me in just the second week. I was torn between saying yes, or ignoring it and going out. In the end I stayed, but not without apprehension or disappointment.
I stayed back with two of my squadmates, one from each team represented in Byron Bay at that time. What followed was one of the most edifying times of intercession I have ever experienced. We prayed for our squadmates as they went out into one of the most spiritually oppressive towns in Australia. The unity amongst us was tangible as we laid our prayers before the Lord. To close off the day, we prayed for encouraging words to hand out to our squadmates when they came back. This turned out to be my favourite time as we poured into our brothers and sisters in Christ- to see the delight in their faces as we handed them out brought me such joy.
Now, if I was again asked this question, I would say yes. It would be hesitant, but now I realise the full impact that prayer has over a situation. As I continue on this journey, I hope that I will grow to a point where the answer would have no hesitation- that I could trust God and His processes.
I am still $6,700 away from my goal and I need your help! You can donate at the top right hand corner of this page. Any amount helps!
