Hi there. Nepal is a stunningly beautiful and wildly adventurous country. From what I have experienced the people are hospitable and resolute. Having gone through tragedy from natural disasters a few years back the country is still recovering, but in this is where I have seen that resoluteness.
So what have I been doing here in Nepal you ask? Good question. I have been asking myself the same thing. I am stepping into a new role here on the race. This month has mostly been training for this new part I am going to be playing. I have gotten to do some cool things such as working with a ministry that has a soup kitchen in Kathmandu and a few other things.
At the kitchen people start to line up in the mornings. This ministry allows them in to take some shelter for the afternoon. They will go around to sit and talk with them offering prayer, sharing life stories with them, offering some medical attention, and simply sharing Jesus. A group of us hits the street before meal time to invite others into the fellowship. Then everyone there receives a hot and filling meal before heading back out. Please be in prayer for this ministry. I am unsure if I can share the ministry’s name and therefore will not, but they are currently being evicted from their location by the government. They were given short notice and have only a week left in their current spot. Pray that God would provide a new place for them. Pray that this would turn into a blessing for them and that their new location would allow them to reach even more people. Also pray for those that have been impacted by this ministry, that the things imparted upon them would not leave but that they would come to know Jesus through what has been poured into them.
Another thing I have been able to do is work with a ministry that had recently been uprooted from its fellowship location. However, this ministry has already seen God move, and they have a new and even better home. They are in the process of having a prayer event where they invite the public to come and be prayed for in a park nearby. It is sure to attract many who are seeking answers to the unanswered prayers of their gods. Pray that the government would give this ministry the stamp of approval to put on this event. The preliminary work has been approved, but they are still missing the final stamp. Additionally, pray that God would show up to people in big ways at the event. That He would stir the hearts of the Nepali people and open their eyes, so they can see that He is the one true King.
Other ways I have been able to do ministry here is simply by walking around and praying in between all the training taking place. Prayer, I have learned, is a powerful and effective ministry. This can look like simply prayer walking the streets and asking for God to lift spiritual strongholds along with many other things. It can also look like praying specifically with individuals as you pass them by on the streets. Here in Nepal it is illegal to evangelize and convert, but simply praying for someone is not. When God moves in these prayers it invites people to ask questions and allows you to share the gospel legally. How cool!?
For everyone following my journey back home, thank you. Prayers for safe travel as our squad travels back to Kathmandu to join for debrief. We will be celebrating the successes of the last few months and setting vision for the next three. Next stop is China and I cannot wait to share the stories!

Got to go bungee jumping on adventure day. Second largest free fall in the world.
