My name is Johan. I am 24 years old. I am 5’5 tall. I was born in the Philippines. I lived in China. I lived in the US of A!! I was a soldier. I was a student. I have some hobbies.
This guy sitting next to me, He‘s my squad leader. His name is Greg. He’s 25 years old. He was born in South Carolina. He was also a student. Has a job. Plays basketball (he’s pretty good).
Here‘s two people. described very briefly. Obviously if I was to write a biography it would be much longer.
How many years have you lived? Can you describe all the major life events in your life? Every step you have taken. Every thought you’ve ever had. Every emotions, every pain, every joy? Every desire you have or might have had? People you love, people who love you?
Well if you could… Wouldn’t you say you’re unique? That every single detail of your life/story makes you just a little more different than someone else. Well you are. Not even our finger prints are the same. Each and everyone of us, made uniquely, with unique Stories and backgrounds.
As I sit here on the balcony of a store somewhere in Jamaica, on the third month of the world race, looking at people pass by, I sit in awe.
7,632,819,325 people in the world carrying the very breath of the being that gave them life. Each one carrying the unique story that the Lord has given them before the beginning of time.
7,632,819,325 names remembered by Jesus when He was suffering on that cross. 7,632,819,325 sinners that needs to know the redemption, hope, freedom that He has brought for them. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8 If my story is so unique. If my life is so valuable and special. That even in my brokeness, my mess, my selfishness, my pride, God Loves me enough to send His only begotten son to suffer the consequences of my actions, then shouldn’t I view the 7,632,819,325 people of this world (who are just as unique as me) with the same grace, the same mercy, and the same crazy love that God has for me?
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” – John 3:16-17
