Never did I ever think I’d be dancin’ for the Kingdom, but this month was a different story.

We have been fortunate enough to use all of our gifts and talents with the various ministry opportunities here in Malaysia.

With that being said, a Long Term Missionary here in Malaysia reached out to our squad leaders and asked a question. They asked if anyone from our squad would be interested in partnering with her. Partnering with her to teach life skills to women that have been rescued from Labor Trafficking.

The women are currently staying in a safe house. They are only allowed to go to the hospital or to ‘the office,’ which is where volunteers get to teach them life skills. I am personally not allowed to share their names, their location, or share pictures of their faces for their safety. I can share what we did.

When originally asked if anyone would be interested in helping teach life skills, I thought, “I don’t really have any domesticated skills…..I can’t cook. And I don’t like to clean!”

I decided to offer what I do enjoy, and that of course is dancing….I love to shuffle (specific type of fast upbeat dance involving a lot of footwork).

One of the squad leaders put that as an option, along with other ideas.

Later in the week, we found out that the ladies wanted to learn to dance. I was honestly shocked.

I didn’t actually think they would want to learn to dance.

We arrived at the office to share our gifts. We spent the first bit getting to know them and hearing about their lives.

One of my teammates shared her gift of cosmetology and taught the ladies how to give a haircut. Another teammate shared her love of cooking.

I shared my gift. I danced and shuffled my little feet off! We all laughed as we all looked probably ridiculously hilarious. But it was fun.

Not all ministry has to be uncomfortable. Of course, that’s where you find growth.

But sometimes, God wants to you share your passions, your gifts. I was thankful to dance for the Kingdom
