They told us that some countries wouldn’t feed us well. I’d like to oppose that statement.

There is only one country that I didn’t agree with the food and that’s mainly because I was sick the entire month.

But let me tell you…India feeds us!

Did you know that 7 cups of rice had as much protein as a TBSP of peanut butter? Fun fact!

Another fun fact: Indians eat anywhere from 7-10 cups of rice EVERYDAY!!

Us Americans, when we take only one scoop of rice (which is probably about a cup or more), they repeatedly tell us to get more. When we say “no thank you”, they question whether we will starve or not.

When we enter other people’s homes, saying “no more” doesn’t work. They smile as they pile on 3 more scoops of rice. When you pull your plate away, they somehow give you another scoop, followed by a smile and head bobble.

While you are eating, they come around with “seconds”. I’m pretty sure they work together to ambush us. As we are preoccupied telling them no more, someone comes from behind and fills our plate.

Oh…and we’ve eaten the normal 3 meals per day, plus a snack before dinner, and which is an American-portion of food.

Some days we have ice cream, and with the many birthdays and “going-away” parties, cake has been plenteous!

Rules to remember for India:  only eat with your right hand, waterfall your drink because you may be sharing, and if you want seconds (and even when you don’t want seconds), expect a second FULL plate!!

So you can be sure that we aren’t starving here. They are feeding out of love, and we appreciate how much they care for us!!

I’m happy to say that the rice is smothered in curry!! ??
