“Mightier than the waves of the raging sea is His love for you” Psalm 93:4
Victoria Falls may not be a “sea”, but it is a raging flow of water. Located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall in the world and has the largest “curtain” of falling water compared to any other falls.
From miles away, you can see the geyser and mist fuming from the land.
As you approach the falls, the roar of the water becomes deafening; yet the sound is peaceful and draws you in.
The flow never stops. With mist engulfing the view, the river below is hard to see.
The mist quickly turns to droplets as it strays from the source, and it rains down powerfully, giving moisture and life to the ground around it. If you dare to walk through it, not even an inch of you will remain dry. As you walk away, the drops will flow off you and spread to new areas.
Nothing can contain it! You can throw in the largest or strongest object, and the water will overcome it (break it apart, push it downstream, or find a way around it). It will course new paths, sending nutrients to new areas and causing life to bloom. Even the persistence of a small trickle will break through the toughest ground.
Can you believe this is a perfect illustration of God’s love? Powerful yet peaceful, life-giving and life-attracting. Unstoppable. Uncontainable. Never ending.
Nothing can stand in its way without being overcome by it.
You want to know something great?!?! You and I are vessels that were created to carry this love. God has chosen to use us to spread His love to all corners of the world.
You may be asking yourself “who am I to do this? How can one little me make a difference?” Well, remember how a small trickle, when persistent, can break through the toughest ground?! Yep, that’s you! And when you partner with others for the same cause, your “trickle” becomes mightier and more powerful than before! He has given YOU the power and authority to go forth and conquer.
