Being born and raised in a home where my parents instilled the Christian values and faith in me, I never knew what it meant to really live for God. All I knew was going to church on Sundays and doing what I wanted to do during the week. I would’ve never thought I would embark on a special journey that God has placed in my heart. I thought I had my life all planned out – finish college, build a career, make money, get married, buy a house, and start a family.
However, God had other plans in mind! I moved to New York City almost 3 years ago (June 2014) because I was looking for a new experience. I didn’t have any specific plans in mind, no job lined up, no family/friends in this big new city, and not really sure how long I was going to stay… but little did I know God was preparing me all along and had it all planned out!
Although I couldn’t exactly pinpoint at the time why I always wanted to live in New York, this is where God met me. This is where I found Him. This is where I fell in love with Him. This is where He has shown me more of Himself like never before. This is where I realized He was actually REAL and not just a “Sunday church service,” a “holy book,” or a “religion.”
This is where He opened my eyes to something so much bigger than what this world can offer! This is where He changed my heart from the inside out. He challenged me and made me want to be a better person. He has taught me how to love those who were unlovable, give to those who couldn’t give anything in return, encourage those who were hopeless, forgive those who hurt me, be gentle and kind to those who ridicule me. This is where He taught me how to depend on Him for everything I needed. Most importantly, this is where He has shown me that all of these internal changes were not meant just for me to enjoy… but to share with others! Others who are hurting, others who have nothing, others who are in pain, who have been forgotten, who have no hope…
As I have been asking God what the purpose was for all of this, He has opened up a special door for me starting October 2017… an opportunity to join The World Race, an 11-month missionary trip to 11 different countries around the world where I get to serve, lead, help, and love those who need it most. Through the World Race, my team and I will be partnering with local churches and organizations overseas to preach the gospel, work in orphanages and schools, minister to women who suffer from human sex trafficking, plant churches, and just love others any way that we can.
Embarking on this new journey comes with big responsibility. It’s not just an adventure where I get to travel the world and have fun. It’s something more meaningful than that. It means surrendering my whole life, giving up my apartment, my career, leaving family and friends, selling everything I have, while trusting and seeking God that He will lead me to wherever He needs me to be. It is meant for me to be uncomfortable, to walk in faith, and to live the life He wants all of us to have – that is to be like Him, live for Him, and love others.
A big part of this process before going overseas is preparing myself spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. With that being said, I hope my story does not only touch your heart, but it can also encourage and inspire you to help me raise and contribute to the financial support that I need during this 11-month mission trip. I will need to raise a total of $18,017 to accommodate my personal expenses for the year.
With your donations, you would not only make it possible for me to go on this trip on October 2017, but you will be embarking on this journey with me! Your contribution will be making a difference, YOU will be making an impact in other people’s lives in third world countries through my hands and feet, and YOU will be blessed by God in ways you can’t even imagine. It is only with your help and support today that can make this journey possible!
Below is a breakdown of the financial deadlines I have to meet, but I am believing that I will be fully funded before I leave the country in October!
$5,000 – July 21, 2017
$10,000 – September 22, 2017
$13,000 – November 30, 2017
$18,017 – January 31, 2018
I put my faith in God that He will supernaturally provide my needs through you. I hope you find it in your heart to contribute and help me reach this goal. I would like to ask for your support today even if it’s $25, $50, $100, or whatever amount God places in your heart. Whatever contribution you can help me with, I thank you in advance for supporting me in any way that you can and I pray that God blesses you even more and gives you all the desires of your heart!
With lots of love,
Jaivie Robles
