South Africa is pretty amazing we started our time here with a week long debrief in Nelspruit. It was a week to re-energize with the Lord. Durning this week we got to go on a safari to Kruger National Park it was so amazing I saw elephants, monkey, leopard, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, gazelles, kudo, it was insane. Then we headed to our ministry location in Johannesburg we live in a very large city and are working with impact Africa. There’s a long list of what we do but most days consist of waking up in the morning and doing door to door ministry in squatter camps. A squatter camp is an unofficial settlement within the city, many people from all over Africa come to Johannesburg in hope of finding a job but when they get here and no jobs are available they go to these squatter camps and live and the living condition is well below average each building poorly put together with what ever materials they can find. Not only are they live in poor conditions but in one camp called deipslut their is about 700,000 people living there! From all over Africa and most don’t even know the name of Jesus. We go out into the camps with a translator who sometimes can speak up to 9 languages and spread the good news many people accept Jesus into there lives which is so humbling to see the lord work! We have seen many amazing works of Christ such as one man who everyone prayed he revived a job then no much later revived a call for a job, Healings have happened, lives saved from the crookedness of the world! However we do face many challenges of false teachings it’s is African culture that their ancestors become more like a God to them as they pray to them and believe they can haunt and hurt their family, also they believe in traditional healing a man is trained to be a healer and wears beads people can come to him to be healed and must obey all he says, we also see a lot of different variations of religions but we make sure we teach them from the Bible and point them to Jesus. Every Tuesday for me I’m blessed with the opportunity to go into a high school and teach about how these students are so cable of anything how they should have dreams and how Satan might hold them back from such dreams and how to stay clear of trouble and we always teach life skills with some Jesus of course. One week I went it was Lucy time and we were out with the kids talking when one of my friends told me to follow him when I did we walked into a classroom and he told me it was a bible study I sat down and talked with them then they asked me questions I was filled with joy as these students about ten where intently listening to what I had to say about there very deep questions. Finally we also got to help with preschool age read bible stories help teach and of course play. I am so blessed here in South Africa besides not haveing much WiFi but the lord is doing some pretty amazing works here and the growth and learning never stops
