I have been in Zambia for a little over a week and I love it here!! We are staying with Pastor Zulu and his wife, Mamma Zulu. They have been so sweet and have gone above and beyond to make sure our needs are met. They have been cooking all of our meals, arranging transportation for us to get to ministry, and they gave us traditional Zambian skirts to wear called chitenge. But to top it all off, yesterday Pastor Zulu came up to us and said that they were going to give each of the women on my team Zambian names. My name is Chikondei, which means love. 🙂

For ministry they split my team up into three groups so there are two Americans with one or two of the Zambian members from our church here. We walk around a huge compound and encourage church members, pray for the sick, and tell people about Jesus. The people’s hearts are so open to everything that we have to say and we have had an average of six people come to know Jesus every day. It is so cool to see how God is working here and I feel so blessed to be a part of it!!

It is so encouraging to be part of the harvest! So much of my race has been planting and watering seeds and I have had times when I felt really discouraged when I prayed and prayed for people to get healed and come to know Jesus and it wasn’t happening. Not to say that God wasn’t using me in the other countries, because I know I have been an encouragement to people and I have been faithful to what I felt like God was telling me to do. But it is SO exciting to see big things actually happen!

Thanks for following my journey and for your patience with me. I will post about my time in Europe soon, but I wanted to give you an update on what is currently going on.

Please join me in praying for more people to come to know Jesus here in Zambia and for renewed strength and courage for me and my team as we do the things that God is calling us to do.

In Him,

Heidi
