Have you ever had a friend email you and then you forget to reply and then it has been several weeks and you still haven’t replied, but it would almost be awkward if you did? That is how I feel about blogging right now. I got a little behind, and kept putting it off and now I am WAY behind. I’m sorry! I am in Vietnam now and I love it here! But before I go into that I am going to tell you about my last month in Battambang, Cambodia.

We had 15 of the women from my squad all living and serving together, as opposed to my usual team of six, and it was so fun! Stephan, Sharelle and their three kids, Jordy, Darcy, and Yannick run Ezra Ministries and were our host family for the month. They were so sweet and went above and beyond to make sure we knew how to get around and had our needs met. At Ezra Ministries they teach English to the neighborhood kids, do VBS, and they recently opened a library cafe to provide jobs in the community and the money helps support the English classes. For ministry we split our team off into different groups and we helped with the VBS, taught English, and went to the hospital to pray for people. We also helped at the library cafe by organizing the books, working on the menu, and designing a new website for our host. You should check out the website and see if you can find me! 🙂 https://www.ezracambodia.com/home/

I got to serve by cooking meals for our team and our host family with one of my teammates, Kimberly, and our lovely host, Darcy. Every day we would be in the kitchen at 6 am to cook breakfast. After breakfast our friend Sam would pick us up in his Tuk Tuk and we would drive to the markets to buy fresh food for the day. The markets were wild! There were people everywhere and the market was a giant maze of different vendors selling fruits, vegetables, meat, and eggs. The food was so fresh that it was literally still alive. We would go by one lady that had buckets of live fish and snakes and she would chop the heads off as people bought them. It was quite the experience! After we finished at the market we would go home and chat, watch a movie, or listen to music as we chopped the seemingly endless mountain of vegetables and chicken that we had just purchased. It was so good to get to know Kimberly and Darcy and have fun together. After lunch we had a break for a few hours during which I would do some exploring around the town, go to a cafe, or get other stuff done (like hand washing laundry). When the whole team was back together for dinner we would share things that God had been doing in our lives, spend time as a team, and then go to bed. I had full days, but they were so good!

I loved having my own bike and getting to explore Battambang! This is a video that my teammate, Elizabeth made of us on our bikes. We may or may not have had WAY too much fun… Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R72EbbswTas&feature=share
