Updates!!!!
Hello, everyone! I hope this blog finds you all doing well! I realize its been a while since I last blogged, and for that I apologize! I am doing well and am loving it here in Albania! The last two months have flown by–I can’t believe there is only one more month left before I fly back to my homeland! I am so ready, but am also enjoying these last few weeks!
My team is currently located in a Muslim village(town) located outside of Tirana(the capital of Albania). We are living with Donna Brady who is a missionary from Ireland. She came just after the fall of communism in 1990. From 1967-1990, Albania had declared itself an atheist state. Religious persecution along with extreme poverty affected the people greatly. Donna has been here for over 25 years and continues to be a light to the people in Albania. In this season of her ministry she is starting a church in a village nearby. My team is helping her with whatever she needs, and is currently planting a garden. The garden is being used as a ministry opportunity to bless the women in the village and share the gospel with them in the meantime. The boys on my team are building a shed which will be used to teach the village children English. In Albania you can not graduate college without passing a certain English exam, so for these children it is a great opportunity. When we finish the shed Donna will be taking us to surrounding villages to pass out Bibles, which we are super excited for! It would be terrific if you could pray for the hearts we will encounter!
It’s been amazing getting to know the people around me! They are so genuine and kind. They will be the first to invite you over to a lunch with fresh made breke, Greek salad, and goat cheese! They love George Bush a whole lot. A whole lot. And always make sure to practice their English with you on the streets. They don’t have much but they have given my team so much!
