In this blog I will be answering all the different questions that you asked this past week. Thanks for participating and enjoy!
Q: What is the weirdest thing you’ve eaten?
A: hm, I don’t feel like I’ve eaten anything really strange yet. I’ve eaten liver, fried cheese (wowza is that salty), lots and lots of liquid beans and other things that haven’t seemed super out of the ordinary. I am looking forward to trying some different things in our time in Asia such as fried tarantula in Cambodia.
Q: How has God grown you the most so far?
A: God has grown me a lot in vulnerability, in the ability to hear his voice day to day and also adaptability/flexibility and trust.
Q: What is the best thing you’ve experienced around the world that you want to bring back to the states?
A: I think just people’s willingness to put relationships above physical tasks. People are seen as more important than getting things done and I think American culture could really benefit from others adopting that same mindset.
Q: What is a unique cultural difference you have seen?
A: in South Africa they put grated cheese on their French toast with syrup. In Guatemala people would bring live animals on the chicken buses after shopping at the market. Overall, in Central America and Africa the culture is more slow paced than America EXCEPT for when getting on and off public transportation. You practically have to run on and off buses to catch them.
Q: What is one thing that you want to do before you finish the race?
A: I want the Lord to impact someone through me in a life-altering way.
Q: What ministry has been your favorite so far?
A: I would say our first month in Guatemala where we worked at an orphanage for children with disabilities or our 4th month in Lesotho where we did a lot of relational ministry where we spent our days doing home visits in a small village.
Well, that’s all for now! Thanks for reading this post and stay tuned for another post soon about this month!
