Hey guys!
So I know I haven’t written much these last few months and I’m very sorry for that. For the next 6 months I will try my very hardest to write and post one blog a week or when I get Wi-Fi.
Wow. I don’t even know where to start. We have done so much last month that it’s kinda hard to believe that we did it all. Every day of the week we had a different mission.
On Mondays we go to the local hospital, Impilo (Ndebele for life) Hospital to work with an amazing organization called Baby Hero’s Africa. This organization is run by two extraordinary women who go around to local churches to get donations. Baby Hero’s works with premature babies and the moms of these babies. They bring simple things like clothes, soap, diapers, toys, and even little knit hats. More than donations though, Baby Hero’s Africa provides support for the families of these children.
On Tuesdays we go the Fathers Family. Father’s Family is a name that our hosts game to this village that lives at the city rubbage dump. It’s heartbreaking to see these children living and playing among the trash. The kids have so much joy though. We play with them and bring PB&Js and fruit juice and just have fun with them. It’s so special that we have been given this opportunity to just brighten their days and play with them and put on skits and tell them bible verses and stories. After we feed and play with the kids we leave the Fathers Family community and go to play soccer at a local football club. Every week they always run circles around us but they still let us play with them. After we play we just get to hang out and share an encouragement with them.
Wednesday is our rest day so our next ministry day is Thursday when we do hospital visits. We visit a mental hospital and bring the patients bananas. We never actually got to meet with the patients but we got to minister to the people work with them. After that we would go visit another local hospital and we would go around to all of the wards and pray for the patients.
Fridays were always different. We evangelized on the streets of Bulawayo, went to local schools, and to the local girls college to have devotions. But my favorite day was the day after we had this awful storm. We drove to this village that this lady needed help repairing her roof. And 6 hours later this family had a roof over their heads again. It was so amazing to help her and her family.
So that was just a rundown on the ministry in Zim last month! Hope yall enjoyed it!
Sending much love and a happy holidays from Zambia!
