Hi! My name is Elisabeth Butler, but I go by Lissie! I am from Dripping Springs, Texas, just outside of Austin. I’m 20 years old am passionate about people, love the Lord, enjoy a good challenge and am so intrigued by our world. The World Race Gap Year is right up my alley! Since you’re here, I’ll tell you a little bit about me-
I adore my family and friends, but I really love meeting and connecting with new people! My parents are divorced, and I mostly lived at my sweet Grandmommy’s house with my mom and sister. Living in a house with all girls is so much fun! On occasional weekends and weekdays, I had the privilege of living on acreage with my Dad! At his house we grew up with a lot of land and animals, that is where my love for nature developed. I grew up in Dripping Springs, but I consider myself to be an Austinite. I was practically raised on South Congress, spoiled with amazing tex-mex, and Zilker Park was basically my playground. I used to ride horses and play tennis, and I still enjoy both. My favorite experience in life so far has been going to camp, whether that be Camp Lonehollow or YoungLife Camp. I have been at Camp Lonehollow for the past 11 years, and it has had such a positive impact on my life. If you didn’t already know, I LOVE YoungLife. I was very active in YoungLife in HighSchool, accepted Jesus at a YoungLife camp, and was a YL leader in Arlington! Also, I love to dance, watercolor and write for fun, though I’m not the best at any of those. I really enjoy reading, too, when I find the time! That includes the Bible. My favorite verse is Proverbs 16:9, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” it is a verse that I live by. If you want to know even more, please contact me! I love talking to others!
Thank you so much for reading this! Please continue to visit my blog for more updates. I am so excited that you are embarking on this journey with me!
With gratitude,
Elisabeth (Lissie) Butler
