God has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecc 3:11

My teams name is DiVine Roots. We are known as the Roots. Today, I want to write about Roots.

For the past four month, I have been immeasurably blessed to walk alongside six amazing women on this journey called the World Race. These women are lovers of Jesus and passionate about pursuing Him and pursuing each other. These women have challenged me, pushed me, believed in me, and blessed me. Yes, blessed indeed. These women are the DiVine Roots. Only God could and would so beautifully and divinely orchestrate the make up of such a team and such a life-giving culture in a group of sisters. It is for His glory and honor that we delight in our yes to the Lord, our yes to sisterhood, and our yes to kingdom living.

However, we are about to enter into a new season. Team changes are a very real thing no matter the resistance in heart or mind. Oh that self that wants to stay in familiarity, stay where one is comfortable.

But as the gardener works wisely and tenderly in care of his plants, so I know and trust God to be  carefully tending my Roots for continued health and the ability to thrive.

My mom loves gardening and is very gifted and knowledgeable in caring for the plants. In her house there are plants in every corner. Large, small, tall, hanging vines, indeed, all sorts.  My favorite are the very tall ones that touch the ceiling. It’s like they just want to keep growing. Caring for these, as with a lot of potted plants, is a very interesting process.

Every once in a while Mom would take the plant out of its pot and remove some of the roots. Failing to do so will have the roots become pot bound and often the plant eventually dies as a result. The plant is then returned into the pot and soil is added to fill the pot which then covers a section of the trunk where new roots can grow and the roots that are left can spread out and grow better.

What happens with the roots that were removed? They are placed in water and in such an environment where they grow and thrive as part of a completely new plant!

I don’t know if you see the parallels here but that is pretty much what God is doing with team DiVine Roots.

Team DiVine Roots:

I thank you. I bless you. I love you.

I have the privilege to continue walking alongside two of the Roots, Taylor and Sarah, along with three new ones, whom I’ll introduce later.

Tomorrow we leave for Thailand. My team will be staying in Bangkok. Stay tuned for the updates!

blessings..
