Have you ever put your faith into a foreign bus driver who is supposed to get you to a distant destination….in the dark…in the mountains?

Yeah we (meaning my team) had to do that for about a total of 40+ hours last month. There were times when I was glad that it was dark outside, so that way I couldn’t see how close to the cliffs edge we were getting. There were also times when I was glad to have light because then I could see the gorgeous landscape that God had created in which we were driving through.

In order for that bus to make it successfully to the destination you would have to pick the most ideal driver for the situation. I know I couldn’t do it and I never want to drive a bus that big on a road that small.

Ive never been there before let alone in the dark.

Jesus has been everywhere though.

If you let him drive you through life sure, the bumps will still be there. So will the mountains. The terrifying cliffs as well as the beautiful landscape will still be there, but you’ll arrive at your destination safe and sound and without worrying about what is around the corner.

Why? Because when it comes to navigating us through the narrow roads of life that can sometimes be dangerous and sometimes be uncomfortable, Jesus is the best one for job. Any situation, He can handle it. But more often than not we try to claim “I can do this” and we don’t let him help. Then we get 9 hours into this long bus ride of life and wonder why were getting tired and having trouble staying on the road. Thats because were not finding our rest in Him.

Im not a bus driver, which means I’m also not qualified to drive my own life around. Im not as good at that as He is. Thats what He does…He handles those tough situations and navigates us through them if we let him.

So give up your pride and let him handle it.

Disclaimer: I have been struggling with pride and giving that up to God. Its not been easy but the more I give it up the easier every month gets by letting Him be in control.
