The other day at debrief, my coach brought up this thing that he does called a “deep dive” into scripture. It’s basically where you read a couple of verses and think about what those are speaking to you. I decided that I was going to take that one step further. I am currently going through the book of Ephesians and I’m going verse by verse, and writing down what that means to me. That being said I’ve spent about 4 hours and I’m just now finishing up chapter 1. This is exciting stuff! As I was going through the verses it hit me… I read chapter 1 verse 5 and wore my response and it shocked me. I didn’t even realize what it meant until I read it and re read it.
Ephesians 1:5
“He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-“
My response to that was this…
“He chose us from the beginning. It brings him more pleasure in having us in his family than it caused pain in sacrificing his only son”
Guys that’s huge! I Didn’t even realize that until I started this deep dive. I encourage all of you who are reading this to share this with your friends and family, and to do your own deep dive. Pick a book. Go through it verse by verse. Wire your response. And then go from there.
