Hello all!
We have made it to months 7 in Chiang Mai, Thailand!
Here’s a little re-cap of the last week we had in Cambodia…
Our squad gathered together for a debrief of the month with our mentors that flew out to be with us.
Throughout the week, we touched on a few different things but for me, REMEMBERANCE was the topic that I clung to.
Do you know that the word “remember” is in the Bible close to 150 times?
I think God is trying to tell us something…
Have you you ever sat down and taken note of what the Lord has done?
Often times we think we can just remember all the things in our head, but more often than not, there’s small intricate details that are the handiwork of the Lord that are easy to forget unless we take the time to truly reflect and remember.
We were challenged to sit and ask the Holy Spirit to show us where the Lord has shown up in our lives that we have never acknowledged before.
For me, He’s done many things, but as I look back, I see how He reveals himself to me over and over again as Jehovah Jireh- my provider.
There are so many circumstances in my life that were revealed to me that I never considered the Lord to be in… but there He was right there in the middle of it all.
In Joshua, after God split the Jordan allowing the Israelites to pass through on dry land, He commanded them to take 12 stones from the midst of the Jordan and stack them as a memorial. He wanted the stones to be a sign of remembrance of what He had done for them so that when the coming generations asked “what do these stones mean?” they would be able to tell them that the waters were cut off for them to pass through.
My friend, Austin, said “If we don’t remember the things the Lord has done, we won’t be able to stand upon His character in the future.”
That’s so true, if we don’t recognize the things He has done, then how can we continue to see the characteristic of himself that He reveals???
Everybody’s stones look different.
My stones are in the form of journals, declarations I’ve made over my life, jewelry, even my Bible has many of my stones written of the pages.
Some people have tattoos or piercings, photos or paintings.. many different things.
What are your stones or pillars of rememberance of what the Lord has done in your life?
