The Mail Man
Last Saturday, I had a huge Yard Sale to raise money for my mission trip. Before the yard sale I had spent a lot of time on my face, praying and preparing my heart to interact with people and hopefully lead someone to the Lord. Sadly, no one got saved but we did get to talk to a lot of people from all different walks of life about what God had done in my life and hear their stories as well. I definitely think seeds were planted but Papa had something else planned for me that day, I never saw coming: the Mail Man.
A tall, thin man in a mail uniform walked up to the tent where some of my family and I were standing. I thought nothing of it and walked away. Travis, my step dad, started talking to him about me and my mission trip. When I walked back up to the tent, Travis introduced me to him and he was asking the normal questions just like everyone does. “What countries are you going to?” “9 months! That’s a long time!” Everything was normal. He asked me if he could shake my hand before he left. After he shook my hand and we started to walk away, he immediately turned around and said “God just gave me a word for you.” He asked if he could hold my hand when he told me. (Side note: No one has ever held my hand when they gave me a prophetic word but after this experience I will be doing it from here on out.) (P.S. It was weird at first but the most awesome things are!) We were making dead eye contact as he told me what God had laid on his heart. He told me that God was going to use these next 9 months of my life to launch my ministry for the next 6 years. That God and I will grow closer and more intimate than I’ve ever imagined we could be. He said God is going to blow your mind in these next 6 years but you have to give them to Him. After the 6 years God is going to put a man in your life who will come in and not take you from your ministry but help you further it for the Kingdom. He said give God these next 6 years but it’s not going to be easy, it’s going to be insanely hard but with God all things are possible. I could hear God reassuring me that what he was saying was what He, Himself had been saying to me. My family had been telling me some of this for a while now but God knew I needed to hear it from an outside source and by golly if a Mail Man, I’ve ever met, hears from the Lord and delivers the message (see what I did there), then you know it’s straight from the King! When he was holding my hand and speaking I could feel the power coming from his hand into mine. It was one of the koolest things I’ve ever had the privilege of being a part of.
After he told me everything, he looked over at my grandma who was standing beside me. (Side Note: She is a stellar woman of God and I’m so thankful for her.) The Mail Man asked, “This is grandma?” I nodded my head and agreed and he said, “She has been praying for you, I can tell. Can you grab her hand?” I grabbed her hand and he said, “Let’s pray for this girl.” They started praying for me and I’ve never felt anything like this before. I had tears rolling down my face just thanking God for this obedient man of God. In that moment, when they were praying for me, something happened that has never happened to me before. I’ve always been able to talk to my Papa and He and I in the Throne Room but for the first time in my life, I was in the Throne Room with two other people. After he said amen I felt like I could run a marathon! So powerful, so renewing and it was exactly what I needed.
That may not seem to crazy if it hasn’t happened to you before but it’s truly amazing. He had only come to bring us a flier for a men’s conference he was doing this coming weekend but God had other plans. I am so thankful for obedient men and women of God because they are hard to find. You can be a follower of Christ and not be obedient but when you are, and you walk in he Spirit daily, it’s truly a whole new world. When God moves, move. When God speaks, listen and do it. Sometimes it’s the weirdest thing He asks of us but it always turns out amazing and blows my mind. I’m definitely working on walking in the Spirit daily in my own life and it’s a daily choice.
Fundraising update: I HAVE REACHED MY $10,000 DEADLINE!!! I started so late with this whole process and I’m not going to lie, I doubted a lot but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. He comes through and blows my mind over and over again! I just want to say THANK Y’ALL SO MUCH! For supporting me, lifting me up in prayer, and going out of your way to help me further the Kingdom. Y’all are the real MVP’s and I couldn’t do any of this without y’all! I’m so excited to see what God’s going to do on the field because He’s already doing miracles and I haven’t even left yet. More praise to come…
