Hello, Friends!
We made it to Ukraine!! We got here bright and early on October 11th at 5 am. This last week, we’ve spent time with our ministry partners, learning about the work we are going to get to do this month.
We are going to have the opportunity to do a few different things! We are going to teach English at a university, hold sweet orphan babies, and redesign a cafe.
I’m so excited about the cafe. I am going to be painting a mural with Amelia and Kyleigh in the foryer. I don’t really paint much, and I have for sure never painted a wall mural of all things, but I’m excited! At first I was so scared, and I was like there is no way I can do this. As those thoughts began, I snuck away to the bathroom (always a quiet place to pray haha) and I took it to the Lord. Being the sweet and amazing gentleman He is, He reminded me that I am a daughter of the King who created everything in the universe. I am creative because He is creative.

God has shown me, through other people on the race, how to use creativity as worship. At training camp, they put on some worship music, gave us water colors, and told us to paint what God was putting on our hearts and in our minds. It was so amazing and freeing. I enjoy doing artsy things, but I don’t always feel like my art looks good. When I paint as worship, it doesn’t matter what it looks like; I just enjoy spending time with the Father and having child-like fun.
If you’ve never tried using your creativity as worship, I encourage you to sit down with the Lord today and make something! Don’t tell yourself you aren’t creative; you are creative because He is creative! When we make the time for Him, and position our hearts to encounter His presence, God always shows up.
