12/03/20 Today marks exactly two years since I returned to america-Forever changed by the journey i just went on. I wanted to share a final story with you:

“Trust and wait for all that is still unseen.” Rom 8:24

I met my husband month 10.

Flashback to stepping off our 14 hour bus ride, arriving in El Salvador.

Tall, dark, handsome…dressed to the nine. AND, he spoke English. Was this real life? I  just assumed he was our super hot taxi driver to take us to our ministry host. A few days later I realized that ”hot taxi driver” was Sal, our translater for the month.

It was love at first sight for me. I remember I called my mom halfway through the Month and said I was in love with my translator. I would make him my precious blueberry coffee my parents brought me from the states, trying to win him over and make him want to translate for my class instead of the others…how does a missionary ”flirt” in a mission minded way? Well, I memorized the entire gospel in spanish for starters. I‘m not sure what God thought of that, I’m sure he saw some humor in the crazy ways I was trying to get this guys attention.

Sal would go above and beyond for everyone and everything he did-he was so kind to the people we served, serving the Lord together brought us together.

When it came time for us to leave El Salvador, I had such joy and a peace on our future.

One month later in Honduras, my squad was in our final debrief and getting resdy to return to the USA. And i did the crazy. i cancelled my flight home to the states booked a tica bus from Honduras to El Salvador to see about the boy.

That weekend in El Salvador was amazing. Sal and I went on our first official date-the most interesting, memorable date ever-which included a treehouse dinner and ended with me spilling coffee on a casket at a funeral.

Three months later, I heard the words i have dreamed of all my life.

“Will you marry me?”

God truely writes the best love stories. scratch that-LIFE STORIES. The things I have learned and seen the last few years have been such a gift. I am so grateful to Adventures In Missions for the opportunity to partner with all the ministries around the world you have read about. For Colleen who was the one who encouraged me to even apply to the world Race. You, my faithful readers and supporters, my Cheerleader parents, my translator-now-husband….you are precious gifts in my life. I am forever grateful.

“Trust and wait for all that is still unseen.”

This season of life may be coming to an end, but I know the God we serve was faithful yesterday, today, and forever. His ways and dreams for us are so much greater then what we could imagine. I pray we always remember that.
Let’s live our lives loving, serving, and trusting.
